The QSFP28 AOC assembly is a cost and energy efficient solution for 100G Ethernet, Infiniband QDR and Fibre Channel applications. The assembly consists of multi-channel optical transceivers on both ends and four pairs of multimode fiber in between. The cable is fixed and sealed to the transceivers eliminating any need for cleaning, and the optical transmission provides much longer range and better BER performance than with conventional copper Direct Attach Cables. QSFP28 AOC is optimized for low power consumption thus reducing heat dissipation in high density settings.

The module is fully compliant with all QSFP28 related MSAs described in SFF-8665 and complies with IEEE 802.3 and 100Gbase-SR4.
